An office cleaning checklist for Troy and Southfield splits the work into daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. Right Key Cleaning uses that split for suites and storefronts in Oakland County, MI. We do not clean medical or dental offices. The list below is for ordinary workplaces: cleared desks, restrooms, break rooms, entries, and floors.

Daily tasks

Daily means every day the office is open, or the evenings you actually need, not a slogan that a two-person suite must buy seven nights. Trash and recycling are emptied. Restrooms are cleaned: toilet, sink, mirror, and the floor, with paper and soap checked if you stock them. Break-room counters, the table, and the sink are wiped. The outside of the microwave and the coffee machine are wiped. Entry glass is cleaned so the door does not show every handprint from the lunch rush. The main walk paths are vacuumed or mopped.

Desks are wiped only when they are reasonably clear. We do not shuffle stacks of paper to pretend a desk was dusted, and we do not read what is on it. Conference tables get a wipe if the room was used. Crumbs in chairs are easy to miss and worth a look after a meeting day. Kitchens that serve a real lunch need the sink every visit. A kitchen that is only a coffee corner still needs the counter, because spills sit there until someone calls them a deep clean.

Weekly tasks

Weekly work is the layer daily cleaning does not reach. Dust reachable horizontal surfaces: credenzas, open shelves, and the tops of filing cabinets if they are not storage piles. Wipe interior glass on conference rooms and sidelights. Clean the exterior of the refrigerator and the dishwasher if the suite has them. Vacuum or mop the edges, under the chairs, and the secondary rooms that daily service only hits when they look bad. Spot-clean the entry mat area where salt and rain collect along Big Beaver and Northwestern.

Somerset Collection is the landmark people use for the Troy office corridor. Suites nearby range from a single room to a multi-tenant floor. Southfield’s Northwestern Highway corridor is the other concentration this checklist is written for. In both cities we clean the leased space you control. Building lobbies and shared restrooms belong to the landlord unless your agreement says otherwise and you have defined that piece in writing. A weekly plan is often enough for a small office that is empty on Fridays. We will not invent a nightly program for a suite that does not need one.

Monthly tasks

Monthly tasks are slower and easy to skip until the suite looks tired. Baseboards, reachable vent covers, and the dust on window sills are the core. Interior glass that weekly service only spots gets a full pass. Restrooms get a slower clean around hardware and the edges of the floor. Break-room cabinets are wiped on the faces. Chair bases and the dust under a reception bench are included when the furniture can be moved without unplugging a workstation.

This is still housekeeping. It is not floor-wax stripping, high-bay bulb changes, or HVAC service. If the suite just came through a remodel, the dust is a post-construction clean or the post-renovation cleanup described for larger jobs, and then this checklist takes over. Mixing drywall dust into a monthly office visit is how both jobs get done badly. Finish the construction clean first.

What this checklist leaves out

We do not clean medical or dental offices. Treatment rooms, clinical waste, and the rules that go with them are outside commercial cleaning as we offer it. A standard office in a building that also houses a clinic is fine if we are hired for the office. The clinic itself is not. Say which door is ours.

Hosts who also run a short-term rental should keep that work on the Airbnb turnover checklist. A guest reset and an after-hours office clean share a habit of written tasks, and they are not the same list. Linens and restock levels do not belong on a law-office night. Trash, restrooms, and cleared desks do not turn a rental. If you manage both, send two requests so the quotes do not blur.

Send the city, the approximate suite size, how many restrooms, which evenings you need, and whether desks should be touched. Alarm codes and lockup steps have to be written down. “The code is on the fridge” is how a suite gets left unarmed. We answer with a schedule that matches how the office is used. Name and phone are required on the quote. Email is optional. There is no published price list, and there is no medical-office version of this page waiting in the back.

Questions people ask first

Do you clean medical or dental offices in Troy or Southfield?

No. We do not clean medical or dental offices in Troy, Southfield, or anywhere else in Oakland County. This checklist is for ordinary offices, suites, and storefronts: trash, restrooms, break rooms, cleared desks, and floors. Clinics involve tasks and rules this service does not cover. A standard office after a remodel can be booked as post-construction cleaning. A treatment room stays outside both lists.

How do daily, weekly, and monthly office tasks differ?

Daily work is what people touch on open days: trash, restrooms, break-room counters, entry glass, and the main floor path. Weekly work adds dusting, conference tables, appliance exteriors, and floor edges. Monthly work covers baseboards, reachable vents, interior glass, and a slower restroom clean. A small suite may not need all three rhythms. We set the split from how the office is used.
